Susuri -- "Nebulai"
Description
There is a hiss of primal force and then only wise quiet in the arrival of Susuri. A dampness pervades the air around this long-bodied and slender dragon. Just over forty feet long and almost snake-like in shape, Susuri still commands the puissant gait and mass of any of her kind. Long, gossamer wings extend from her back, belying the strength behind her 37,000+ pounds of gargantuan muscle. Flexible ridges start at the back of Susuri's skull and trail all the way down to her tail. Sharp claws seem to leave no marks in the earth even though they seem keen enough to cut the very air. Opal bracers are clasped around the lower sections of those great limbs, offering ancient protection to bolster her impenetrable armor. The mist dragon's scales are pale-white though opaque and glisten as if wet. Pale-blue eyes gaze unblinkingly, filled with a disquieting and deadly intent. Susuri seems ephemeral in the aloof nature of her aomatic species. Nonetheless, a hidden terror lurks behind the chilling enigma of her primeval soul. Prudent would it be to vacate her vale.
When opting to don a human guise, Susuri is better known by the common name of Nebulai. In this case, she often appears as a tall, well-proportioned human woman of dark pigmentation and hair, according to her Kukul origins. Her age seems indeterminable since she possesses the vigor and beauty of youth yet the weight of years and wisdom of ages presses down upon her face and burns behind her sky-blue eyes. She typically wears a simple robe of sylvan hue, carrying a stout, rough staff of the finest ash wood inlaid with divine etchings of natural lore. Even now, the presence of Nebulai's mystical prowess and mysterious sagacity seems almost overwhelming, as if she were the avatar of a god here to dispense justice or whim.
History
Susuri hatched 841 years ago on a remote island in the Southern Horizos Ocean. She was left to her own devices as the only wyrmling to survive the hatching process. The island was a lush locale and Susuri preyed on larger and larger animals as she grew with age. Eventually, the staple of her menu became the local gorilla population, who in a very primitive fashion worshiped her as a primal goddess with offerings of food in the ineffectual hopes that she would not eat them. For years, Susuri believed her mist dragon parents left her this unnamed and uncharted island to be cared for. There she slept and hunted and often explored the surrounding sea. She found some pretty things at the bottom of the ocean, especially the further east she ventured. But in 624 ACE, the dormant volcano at the center of the island awakened…and erupted in a fiery blast. Susuri fled the destruction, burrowed into the ocean floor, and slipped into a long slumber to await the land's recovery.
For a century, Susuri slept. She eventually awakened, instinct nudging her forth to eat. She fed on a few fish, but yearned to see what became of her home. It had indeed recovered. Susuri explored the island and the mist still lingering from the heated air. She felt like she could commune with the island, and yearned to try and figure out what the island needed to calm its fiery heart. But the mist dragon could not puzzle out any answer. Failing that, Susuri took wing and flew abroad to the west. She found a new home in the Samba Cliffs of Southern Kukul. She quietly explored this new land and was surprised and fascinated by the intelligent life here. Susuri interacted with these various creatures, using her inherent magic to mimic their appearance, and taking the nickname of Nebulai to further disguise her true self. Susuri did her best to learn their customs, and found that through the correct rituals the land could indeed be communed with. Though she wondered what her isle would tell her, Susuri was more interested in understanding this broader and more complicated world. She sensed conflict in the Natakas Vale not too far inland from her cliffs, and decided to seize this opportunity to learn more of the universe.
Personality
Susuri remains chilly and aloof. She's a watchful dragon, introspective and hungry for truth. She really wants to understand the workings of nature better. Her intense, primordial, and predatory personality makes her a good candidate to capture that comprehension. She's ancient and wise enough to understand it on her own, of course. But she's not so venerable that she can summon answers out of thin air, so Susuri reluctantly approaches other intelligent creatures as necessary to learn more.
Goals
Susuri will master the Druid class (20th level), then multi-class as a Sorcerer.
