The Autyuels thrived as a wealthy noble family on Alpheridies. When the entire clan enjoyed a family union on a space cruise, Nova Blade space pirates ambushed the yacht. The family was entirely taken prisoner, ransomed, or thrown into slavery. Fortunately for young Shihiod, an imperial saboteur was among the crew, and took pity on the child. Perhaps her race’s natural blindness appealed to his humanity. Whatever the case, he smuggled her off the pirate ship and into imperial caretakers’ hands. Shihiod later learned that her rescuer was part of Intelligence. After surviving an imperial orphanage in Kaas City, she dedicated her life to the training and studies of an Imperial Agent. She remained grateful to that moment of pity her rescuer saw. Years later, when she finally gained admission to the secretive ranks of Intelligence through her skill and savvy, she re-acquainted her hero: it turned out to be Keeper himself, during one of the last in-person missions he ever performed. Shihiod borrowed from her savior and now mentor’s example. She hoped to soften the cruelty of not only Intelligence but the entire Empire: better that the Sith were benevolent overlords than rapacious monsters (compared to galactic criminals like the Nova Blades). Still, her calm and cool-headedness served her well in Intelligence, her devotion to the Empire made her a reliable and deadly killer.
