Sadira al-Saleed bint Isiyah

Description

As intense as the ocean, Sadira al-Saleed bint Isiyah brings the scent of seafoam and the beauty of the depths. She stands over twelve feet tall and probably weighs more than 1,500 pounds. But Sadira is simply a gorgeous giantess, though she is no simple giant. A denizen of the City of the Shattered Shell, this marid carries an exotic air that lends her the eternal youth of a ripe woman in her mid-20s. Her well-proportioned curves illustrate the elemental supernature in her skin's light-blue hue. In addition to a shimmering slip that scarcely conceals Sadira's toned and graceful body, long aqua-colored hair spills down her backside like waves. Her eyes swell with a deeper blue, magnetic as the earth's poles and inevitable as the currents of the sea. Sadira speaks with an imposing will and cultured eloquence, speech accented with the strange custom of her home world. Accouterments include a necklace of perfect white pearls, a pair of magic-inlaid opal bracers around her wrists, and the broad sheath of a fine falchion blade slung around her waist at a rakish angle. Sadira wears no footwear; they'd probably bother the marid's webbed toes. Little can really offend her otherworldly prowess, however. Sadira embodies boundless motion, contrasting like the day and night, like the soft lapping of morning tides and the thunderous onrush of a tsunami. This genie beauty is definitely not someone with whom to trifle.

History

Although Sadira appeared only about 25, she was actually born 1,341 years ago in the City of the Shattered Shell. This major center of marid civilization was founded in the heart of the Elemental Plane of Water and well-guarded. So despite Sadira's "lowly" birth as the daughter of a petty noble genie, her family enjoyed a certain measure of prosperity and security. For centuries, Sadira combined serious arcane study with lackadaisical frolic in equal measure. She was happy.

However, only a few years ago during the city's joyful Festival of the Conch Sounding, disaster struck. A powerful underwater tidal wave swept through the city, breaching even the marida's powerful wards against the plane's chaotic elemental nature. Several marida who swam in the streets, including Sadira, were shunted through dimensional layers. Sadira found herself on the Material Plane, Cael. She swiftly returned home through genie magic only to discover that many other marida did not return so safely. It was assumed they were shunted to other more potentially dangerous planes of existence. Sadira vowed to investigate the cause of the dimensional tsunami. Fearing the mischief of some mortal wizards, she began her investigation back on Cael. Her first few clues led her only to believe answers would be found not on the continent of Yadahn (with which genies were more acquainted) but north, to Estonen. Sadira traveled to this more barbaric land, intent on uncovering the truth and recovering her fellow marida.

Personality

Sadira can behave like a spoiled noblewoman at times. Her willfulness, of course, gives her a mental resilience and strength to keep plugging away at the mystery to which she is determined to resolve. Sadira is also quite eager to learn: proud but curious. Like most of her kind though, Sadira is leery when venturing beyond her familiar element (water). She just hopes that restriction will not prevent her from achieving vindication.

Goals

Sadira will pursue the Sorcerer class to mastery and beyond (20th level+) as an epic spellcaster. It's an easy class, since it comes naturally to the genie, and that's what suits this laidback marid beauty just fine.
