Ror Ardemore -- "Snapbow"

Description

Ror Ardemore is a creature of small stature at 4'4" and only 68 pounds. But Ror, also called Snapbow, is packed with energy and a frightening, wild-eyed ferocity. The bog halfling has a fair complexion despite his marshlands environment. Ror's black hair sweeps loosely down to the waist, wild and uncut, and sideburns run the length of otherwise smooth cheeks. Ror wears a mud-brown tunic, leggings, and soft-soled boots. But that's underneath the suit of flexible studded leather Ror dons. A backpack of general gear is strapped over his shoulders and a few pouches are clipped to his belt. A pair of spears are slid diagonally behind his pack, secured in place by loops. Openly in hand, however, Ror totes a broad and double-headed axe capable of rending the flesh of even mighty beasts apart. Ror's dark eyes survey his land with apprehension, as if always anticipating an ambush. Though he might be paranoid, really Ror has his head in the right direction. That may be why he still survives.

History

Rast Swamp of the westernmost reaches of Darsix long concealed a small but hardy community of bog halflings. Ror Ardemore dwelled with his people in this place since his birth back in 878. The young halfling understood even from an early age of what a precarious and dangerous world it could be just beyond the patrolled borders of the halflings' community. All the same, Ror could not help but yearn to explore and see more than his small village offered. The halfling wandered through the swamp, often getting himself in trouble with other denizens of that place. He always survived, however, and more than once simply threw himself into an almost mindless rage to battle his way past predators. It was a rage born of fear, but it served him well all the same. Ror became known as one of the fiercest guardians of Rast Swamp. He was nicknamed Snapbow for his complete lack of stealth when he flew into one of his fearsome rages. Anything within a 100 yards could hear him coming then…and if it was a wise anything, at that point it ran away.

Personality

Ror is quiet and apprehensive to the point of paranoia. In fact, he looks like a madman, on the brink of psychosis, at almost all times. The bog halfling isn't fearless. Quite the opposite: he's full of fear. But he knows how to tap it and channel it into strength and power. Ror would like to live in a peaceful place -- a peaceful swamp, that is -- but it seems Cael is short on such a place. So he'll keep fighting until the marsh in which he already dwells is rendered the sanctuary he craves.

Goals

Ror will only follow the barbarian class until mastery (20th level+) and beyond as an epic wild warrior. Only if his personality takes a drastic shift from paranoia will he consider some other profession.
