Praetor Masada

Description

Praetor has lived more years than his body maintains. It shows in the matured lines of the fighter's face. In fantastic physical condition, the austere warrior proudly descends from the Masada bloodline. This lineage is boldly born on the emblems stitched onto his scarlet cloak. The cloth serves to encase a broadly shouldered and heavily armed killer. From head to toe, he wears or clutches steely instruments of cold death. Disturbingly, such equipment seems to fit well the icy glare his navy-blue eyes bequeath all those beneath his lordly station. Praetor maintains his raven hair and beard short and trimmed at all times. For while he may not actually be noble, he always remains professional. No one gets past that broad shield and deadly arm.

History

Praetor Masada, born 24 years ago in the city of Jael, was raised on blood and war. The land of Praetoria, for which he was obviously named, sang praises of Duvaun and all the brave warriors that fought in disciplined phalanx-style ranks in the dark god’s name. Praetor embraced this legacy, intent on bringing honor to his people and family, while carving out his own glory and greatness. When he had matured and cut his teeth on a few border skirmishes, he struck out on his own. Praetor took only his faithful Rottweiler hound, Brutus, as he journeyed out into strange and unfamiliar lands. He would return to his people in time: in eminent might and wealth, a ruling lord by merit instead of merely birth.

Personality

Praetor has a sense of honor, but it is cruel and merciless. He lives by the phrase vae victus (“to the victor go the spoils”). Praetor believes in law and order, but is no naïve goodie-two-shoes. Law and order are the basis for civilization, but law and order are maintained by strength, not altruism. This warrior maintains a calm and professional at almost all times, though is known to lose his temper when pressed. But gods help whoever presses this man. Woe to the conquered!

Goals

Praetor will continue the fighter class to epic levels, picking up shieldmates (cohorts) along the way.
