Shili provided home to the Togruta for as far back as any of the storytellers could remember. That changed for so many nations after the Sith Empire bombed the planet. The Togruta turned to the Republic for defense. Thereafter, its Force-sensitives became subject to Jedi review. Osessa Zyr came under this scrutiny when still just a child. At first, her talents manifested in subtle, even troubling ways: shadowing her movement, allowing her to sneak cookies from the jar right in front of her mother. Regular scans of Shili located the potential and Osessa transported off-world with her new Jedi mentors. For many more years, she learned to quiet her young soul and to channel the Force into righteous and productive ends. However, Osessa internalized a bitter resentment borne from separation from her family and her people’s stories of pain and degradation. Consequently, the apprentice grew withdrawn and cynical. Osessa embraced the Jedi ways, save for the ethics of compassion. While never approaching hate, mistrust guided and informed her decisions. As the Galactic Cold War worsened, Osessa gradually darkened in anticipation of bloodshed and treachery.
