Orthros Zar

Description

A huge beast, Orthros embodies the terrible first Minotaur from ages past. His hulking muscles and brute bull horns emerge from shaggy brown hair. His bovine head boasts a gold ring through the broad nostrils and terrible, sharp teeth in his mouth. Brown eyes gleam balefully as he stalks the world, accepting the role as a terrifying monster. Orthros' upper body is better protected than most of his kind, for he wears a specially-designed shirt of fine steel links -- meant for the king of his kind, clearly. Orthros' most fearsome aid, however, is the huge double-bladed axe rested on his massive shoulders. He looks like a monster who would chase any enemies through a dungeon and strike them down by cleaving through the walls of stone in between.

History

The labyrinthe realm of minotaurs in western Praetoria known as Zar existed deep underground, unknown to those above. Most of the bullfolk were content to dwell in their maze-like home, slaying any intruders who dared to enter, and hunting underworld beasts for fun and food. But Orthros felt a greater pull than this simpleton existence. He dared his own life by taking the Earth Slide deeper into the bowels of the labyrinth. Orthros yearned to seek out a greater existence than this, and felt deep inside he was destined to something greater. Perhaps, he pondered, he was fit to be king of his people, and designed to lead them to a greater era. So he explored, besting underworld foes -- including a final guard, an umber hulk, which was set as a guard to an ancient temple dedicated to Arterium. Therein, Orthros discovered painted motifs on the walls illustrating the future rise of a minotaur king with the help of a winged angel…or devil. Orthros explored the temple further, and thusly discovered the figure of his fate, the erinyes called Delilah…

Personality

Savage might and a relentless intent to dominate or destroy all who stand in his path, Orthros took pains to educate himself beyond the average minotaur. He honed his survival techniques and even listened to a doddering old cleric of Minos to learn how to read and write. His physical might was blessed with greatness. With his massive physique and frightening ambitions, Orthros could accomplish his goal of being crowned king of Zar…if he plays his cards right and follows the destined path correctly.

Goals

Orthros will master the Barbarian profession (to the 20th level). If he were to multi-class, it would probably be to Blackguard (mastered to the 10th level).
