Onoxaimon

Description

Onoxaimon is a huge beast, a terrifying monster of nightmarish description. This demon rises to 15'8" and weighs close to three tons. His body is broad and as powerfully muscled as a giant. However, instead of skin, Onoxaimon seems to be covered in a dark hide, black as night. A hairless tail extends a few feet from the beast's rear to aid in balance. Though he stands on two clawed legs, he possesses four arms. The two upper arms descend naturally from thick shoulders but end not in hands but deadly pincers. Two other arms jut from his ribs beneath those upper arms, and these ends in humanoid hands that clutch a long shaft that ends with a curved scythe blade. The weapon appears only partly real, as if formed out of the black smoke of his demonic home world. Wrapped around the forearms of those limbs are a pair of brass bracers etched with demonic sigils. Onoxaimon keeps the long haft of an enchanted mattock strapped to his back, along with a small pack and pouches of his other possessions. Hanging around his neck is a silver symbol of unholy allegiance -- the engraving depicting the rod of Orcus. Protecting his barrel-like torso and shoulders is a shirt of black plates, presumably of steel, that appear to have been manufactured into his hide and flesh by giant screws and rivets. The breastplate depicts the emblem of a human skull and the eye sockets literally glow scarlet with supernatural power.

However, Onoxaimon's own head is not human. Canine in shape, long horns jut and curve back from his brow. Hairless and frightening, his ears are misshapen; one is torn in twain. His muzzle parts to display a maw of sharp fangs and a black tongue that appears to boil with almost acidic saliva. Although a monster by every right, this glabrezu's violet eyes are vibrant with cunning, savvy, and deep perception. He can stare straight into your soul and know all that you desire, and then offer it in truth. The only question is…will you pay the price he demands? Your soul isn't that precious, and surely it's worth the reality of your dreams come true!

History

Onoxaimon turned 4,261 last year. This ancient tanar'ri haunted the many layers of the Abyss for ages, executing his diabolic duties as glabrezu with finesse and delight. He tempted countless mortals into misery and doom. Onoxaimon observed the rise of civilization eagerly; the more complicated things were, the easier it was to manipulate the minds of men. He waited in the petrified land of Stonewood Forest, the 72nd layer of the Infinite Abyss. When men called upon his power, he visited Cael and those foolish mortals' abodes. But time could wear down even the most evil spirits. He began to hunger for something new. It was Orcus, Demon Prince of the Undead, that sensed this powerful glabrezu's fretting, and visited him personally. The living were easy to puppeteer, Orcus and Onoxaimon complained in agreement. But the undead…now they were harder. Vampires and liches were gifted with greater wisdom and were harder to deceive. A new challenge? Onoxaimon accepted if Orcus awarded him certain powers over the damned. The prince, having secret plans of his own for the glabrezu's aid, accorded him those dark powers that could develop with practice. Onoxaimon traveled to the Empty Barrows, the 128th layer of the Abyss, to seek out another aide of Orcus. The marilith necromancer, Gari, awaited him there. Together they would prove that the undead were as susceptible to temptation as the mortals that the damned envied and despised.

Personality

Onoxaimon is a incredibly manipulative monster, relying on subterfuge and deceit to get what he wants. He is no coward, but far prefers to play games of intrigue and set his enemies on one another. When all else fails, of course, he tears into the ranks of his foes with massive force and deadly spells. The lucky ones are slaughtered; the unlucky ones become subjects for his sadistic tortures. He exists solely for his game of Machiavellian machinations and his ambitions are not nearly as great as one might think. But through his constant scheming, Onoxaimon could seek to rise as high as any demon prince.

Goals

Onoxaimon will master the cleric class (20th level+) and become a frighteningly powerful death cleric before possibly multi-classing. He would probably take up a Prestige Class like hierophant, but might settle instead for sorcerer.
