Bio
The prized daughter of Brennt and Sandri Stormfall, Nycola's intelligence and even temper saw her excel in school in Nuba City's quiet outskirts. Though always a quiet and introspective young woman, she showed no signs of anything unusual into later in her life. But that was in large part due to her childhood's secret side life. She chased butterflies in the fields, and the butterflies led her regularly to a rare natural spring on Nubia. There, unknowingly, she communed with the Force. It gave her visions of her brilliant future among the Jedi, which she entertained as fancies. Fearsome imagery were mere speckles in an ocean of wonder, for so the Force blessed young Nycola.
Her first outward and public expression of the Force came when she visited Coruscant with her brother Cambyos and their parents, who were on a business trip attending an inventors' conference. Wandering the streets boldly together, the two young Nubians ran afoul of a small gang (Black Sun punks) harassing a group of Mirialan refugees. Her brother, ever heroic, stood stalwartly between the thugs and the refugees. When one of them weaseled by and leapt at a couple of the younger aliens, Nycola lashed out with her hand -- and raw Force sent the punk sprawling. The rest of the thugs fled rather than risk a brawl with at least one Force-sensitive.
Because it was on Coruscant, word soon spread in that sector of the city-planet that Nycola evinced mighty Force powers. A Jedi Master soon descended from the Senate Tower to approach the Stormfalls. Her parents, taken a back by their daughter's secret gifts, were nevertheless grateful for the Jedi's timeliness and gave her over to the education of a Padawan.
So began Nycola's early training under the auspice of Jedi Master Genn Steelu, an aging but wise Master on the Council. He initiated her training on Tython and for several more years, she honed the basics of mind, body, and spirit. Her combat proficiency ranked higher than any of her peers, funneling her of course towards knighthood. What really made Nycola stand out, however, was her unflagging courage. With Master Genn, she examined her dreams and the visions she had as a child. With his objective insight, she realized how terrifying those momentary glimpses into the Dark Side really were. And yet, she did not feel afraid. She saw them as blights upon the beauty of the wonders of the Force, and voiced her desire to dispel them forever. With his assistance, she matured into a very capable young Padawan. But before Genn Steelu could see her graduate completely, age overcame the old Master and he passed away. Master Orgus Din instead finished her training, and helped set her upon that destined path of great tragedy and awesome victory. She would face the Dark Side and its ultimate emblem of festering nihilism, the Sith Emperor...and triumph.
