Nnamdi Ogun

Description

Nnamdi Ogun is an imposing warrior that possesses great strength, agility, wit, and a terrible ferocity. Luckily, the young man normally appears quite calm and attentive. His brown eyes are bright with an appreciation for life and the wild. The barrel-chested ranger has dark-brown skin and short, very curly black hair cut close to the scalp. Tattoos of black sepia decorate the back of his skull, neck, upper shoulders, and probably his back, too, depicting tribal designs that really do mean something! Nnamdi's rippling muscle is typically contained in a pair of simple cotton trousers, sandals, and vest. Geared for battle and the hunt, however, will find the ranger in a shirt of steel chain links. He carries a keen-edged battleaxe and dagger, as well as a spear and simple short bow pinned on his back behind a pack of general equipment. Nnamdi is a defender of his people and their habitat, and woe to the would-be despoilers who must cross his path.

History

Nnamdi Ogun was a leading resident of the Zanga Village in Kukul since his birth as the chief's second son 24 years ago. Though the village was small, Nnamdi was treated like a prince. And he received the best training in the hunting arts. His father was no buffoon, a great warrior in his own right, and he made sure Nnamdi (like all his brothers) were spitting images of their mighty chieftain father. Nnamdi took up the role of a leading hunter for Zanga, defending its perimeters from a variety of hostile threats. When the shaman spoke of dire times, of famine and drought and pestilence descending on Zanga, overshadowing the village's future, Nnamdi volunteered to investigate those omens personally. He traveled east to the Namadas Forest as the priest's auspice suggested. Nnamdi was prepared for anything, or at least he felt that way. In truth, as the shaman's predictions haunted his dreams, the young ranger began to fear and suspect he might die out here.

Personality

Nnamdi is not overconfident, only inexperienced. He does not underestimate his enemies, he just doesn't realize he could already be in over his head. Nnamdi behaves with general courtesy, though lacks courtly civilities. The man is not ambitious, and does not seek to replace his father as chief one day, accepting that an older brother will take that role. Nnamdi just hopes he could be a village hero, etched in the oral histories of Zanga forever.

Goals

Nnamdi will master the ranger class and beyond (20th level+) as an epic ranger.
