Nils Tanzimos

Description

A living shadow of infamous legacy, Nils Tanzimos, aka the Niteblade, arrives with a whisper of cold vengeance. The half-elf is hardly an imposing warrior, standing only 5'7" and weighing no more than 156 pounds of lithe, crafted muscle and sinew. Waxing his equivelent 30s, Nils' drow heritage is evident. Actually second generation half-drow, his dusky-toned skin and platinum-blonde hair are evidence of that past. He keeps his hair cropped short, though the bangs are lengthy, and frame a chilling expression set in good-looking, sculpted features. His ears even have a slight cant. A pair of glasses, the frame made of gold and the lens crafted from smelted blue gemstones, rest on his nose, shading the unnatural blue glow of his magicked eyes. Nils is clearly gifted with godlike grace, speed, dexterity, and cunning. His features are wizened with his relentless savvy and deadly past. A hand crossbow and a small quiver rest at easy drawing reach on his hip, and a bountiful sack is clasped to the other side. Nils naturally wears all black -- silk breeches, tunic, and a rippling cloak, but no armor at all. Instead, a thrum of mystical power accompanies the stealthy warrior. With those deadly onyx Nightblades at hand, he needs no armor -- only fools would dare attack this dark legend of revenge.

History

The Tanzimos family inherited a great boon: the Nightblades. Nils was actually named after his father, a great darksome warrior who married a beautiful, clever illusionist, Ariel. Together with his sister Dawn, Nils grew up in a small cottage outside of the town of Smyth, Verdentia. From his parents, Nils developed great skill in stealth and war and magic. He learned that necromancy befouled life and genuine conjuration paled in comparison to the limitless power of imagination -- illusion. He and his sister both benefited from this superb education for years…before tragedy befell them all. Nils' father was an avid demon hunter, the Niteblade, and made many enemies. A powerful cleric of cruel evil snuck into their home one night and murdered Nils' parents as they slept. Nils took up the Nightblades and swore revenge. And for some twenty years after that day, he certainly took it. He murdered that dark cleric in return and waged a brutal one-man war against the diabolists of Cael. He once even pierced the layers of the Abyss itself in search of his quarry. All the while, his skills and powers grew until even the demons themselves could not defeat him. Eventually, Nils faded into infamous legacy, an icon of a past day where his callous path claimed no more lives. But that, like many other things about him, was just an illusion. Nils was simply gathering his powers and biding his time. Hell itself would feel his wrath… But first, his physical mortality was about to catch up with him. Nils set his bloody quest aside in search of longevity.

Personality

Nils isn't evil, he's "brutally efficient". The man is cold-hearted but ingenius, calculating, tenacious, sly, inventive, and downright deadly. Nils seems almost catlike in his clever methods, and despite his age and experience, vindictive in his attitude towards others. Though infamous, cautious, and charming when need-be, Nils avoids others. Even those he would not hunt could so easily become his enemy -- the dark arts of possession made that all too readily possible.

Goals

Nils will continue to pursue his dual classes, particularly his Wizard class (to 20th level+). If he ever multi-classes again, it might be to pursue a prestige class like Assassin or Shadow Dancer.
