Malik
Description
A hot wind circulates about Malik. He resembles an elf vaguely, but is stouter in build. He stands only 5'4" and weighs about 168 pounds. Malik clearly possesses a divine nature. His features are handsome yet rugged, youthful yet timeless. His strength is evident in the ripple of powerful muscles that only loose dove-gray garments conceal. Malik wears no armor, but his preternatural deftness and agility make it obvious he doesn't really need it. Brass bracers upon which mystic sigils are inscribed add protection. Malik wears a few trinkets of brass and silver: rings, armlets, and a necklace. They compliment his otherworldly features quite well, especially his long brass-colored hair, which he typically has bound back in a braid. His silver-white skin seems like liquid mithral. Malik's half-eladrin and half-dragon nature serves him well in his celestial tasks and he inherited the best of both worlds. Great strength, intellect, magnetism, and savvy make this bralani/brass dragon mix one of Heaven's greatest assets. His mighty hands most often grip a dire flail, a weapon of thick wood and solid steel that sends two separate spiked heads spinning in a whirlwind of destruction. Malik might also be seen toting a recurved short bow of fine yew, upon which are etched Celestial runes of empowerment. Good-natured and resolute, Malik offers mercy and patience only for those who deserve it. Eyes that constantly flicker with the iridescence of a rainbow reminds others that he is a celestial creature. The sweeping element of the wind combines with the heated breath of fire to create a being that's like a scathing desert wind -- only far more deadly.
History
Over 1,200 years ago, Malik was result of a union between a bralani heroine and her brass dragon mount. They were retired heroes and retreated to the Immolating Hills of the Broken Desert, found in Krigala of the Beastlands. They raised their son, Malik, with great care and plenty of liberty. Malik was allowed to wander, explore, and acquaint the celestial realm into which he was born. He grew in strength and wisdom swiftly. Over the centuries, Malik became a protector of Krigala, helping its denizens ward off planar poachers and daring raids of fiends and other villains. Malik was told about the oath the chromatic and metallic dragons made to each other about limiting the breeding of half-dragon creatures; he was a lucky one on that end. When rumors began to circulate the Upper Planes that the evil dragons were planning to, or already in the progress of, reneging on their part of the bargain, Malik's parents were infuriated. Acting as an instrument of their wrath as well as a protector of honor and right, he promised to look into the affair. Malik traveled to Cael, joining with other forces of good to investigate this looming threat. If wicked dragons intended to once more breed an army to help them overrun the planet, this plot had to be nipped in the bud.
Personality
Malik seems quiet, resolute, and fierce. And while he does have those qualities, he can be loquacious with friends and allies. He's a little impatient at times, too, eager to push onwards and explore all that he wants and needs to explore. But ultimately, this half-bralani and half-brass dragon is a merciful and good-spirited fellow. Malik doesn't constantly crusade against villainry, although he won't hesitate to stand in its way and summon the elements themselves to knock evil down a notch or two.
Goals
Malik will master the ranger class (20th level) before picking a Prestige Class to pursue, such as Horizon Walker.
