Maia Velerena

Description

An attractive brunette in her twenties, Maia boasts the full-bodied proportions of humanity but the sculpted features of her elven blood. Maia favors common wool breeches and tunic dyed pale green. When expecting trouble, she dons elven-crafted studded leather armor head to toe and totes a six-foot long spear, plus a common sickle. Due to her pristine bearing, Maia is sometimes mistaken for a druid.

History

Thirty years ago, the wild elves and men of southcentral Mautos joined forces against the encroachment of enemies like ogres and minotaurs. In the process, many legendary romances began between human and elf. Maia was the product of one such affair. Both her parents were warriors that ended up dying in battle. She was orphaned from an early age. The half-elf was then adopted by the Temple of Uná. She learned to truly appreciate and adore the blessings of life and nature. Maia studied the lore of the temple and the primitive simplicity of living as one with the land. By the end of her adolescence, Maia was ordained as a cleric of Uná. She remained in her temple's homeland thereafter, guarding the beauty of her environment.

Personality

Outwardly quiet and gentle, Maia Velerena becomes quiet fierce when it comes defending nature. She has great respect for anyone who can and does live as one with the world. But Maia has no patience for those who would defile it. Unlike some half-elves, Maia does not feel ill at ease with her dual heritage. That's probably because the grugach who raised her were quite friendly with her father's tribes.

Goals

Maia will master the Cleric class (20th level), and then consider following the prestige class of Hierophant.
