Description
There is an ethereal quality about Liyana Vedynn difficult to put into words. Terms like delicate and breathtaking seem to fall short of this star elf's immeasurable grace and beauty. She still seems to enjoy the youthful longevity of her kind, although at 5'5" she is taller and more willowy than most elves. Still weighing only 98 pounds, Liyana is slender and sleight of form. The sky-blue gown she wears emphasizes her gentle curves and the dress is slit up both sides to the waist to provide easier range of movement. Of course, this permits peeks at Liyana's long, smooth legs; her tiny feet occupy simple wooden sandals. Silvery rings, bracelets, armlets, anklets, and a necklace and tiara are among her favorite jewels. Liyana possesses long and luxurious blue-black hair that seems woven of the softest silk, and it is often bound up with silver hairpins. Her eyes match the night color of her hair with dark-blue depths of mystery, wonder, and the deepest warmth. The pupils sparkle like the stars for which her race was named. She carries a simple leather pack, quiver, bow, and bronze mace when expecting trouble. But Liyana seems to be a peaceful woman. The simplest curve of her pink lips heads off trouble with the sweet dreams that smile can bring.
History
Liyana Vedynn entered the world 161 years ago. Of course, she was born and raised in the star elves' solitary realm in Estonen, Safale Reach (in the mountains of Hale). Even from childhood, Liyana had her gaze on the night sky above. The constellations fascinated the elf. She studied them whole-heartedly, mapping their movements across the heavens, and deciphering their meanings. Though some scholars dismissed astrology as mere hoke, that was just because they lacked the sophistication to understand the secret meanings. Liyana developed her comprehension and impressed her seniors enough that she was invited to a special ritual. In this ceremony, potential sorcerers could be awakened by the timing of the constellations and the incantation of the correct powers. The magical currents flowed through Liyana during that powerful invocation, and she was awakened. For decades more, she studied the whimsical nature of arcana. Then she received a special honor. Every century, the star elves of Safale Reach wanted to discern the placement of the constellations from different angles, away from their mountainous home. With a companion to help record her findings, Liyana ventured from her home at last.
Personality
Liyana is gentle, even soft-hearted. With her reverent, respectful, and merciful attitude, she has a lot of untapped power. Her courtesy, elegance, and grace will help propel her through social challenges assuredly. Hopefully, her sense of mystery and contemplative nature will lend her the savvy to overcome other adversaries as well.
Goals
Liyana will master the sorcerer class (20th level) before considering a second class -- perhaps bard or even a Prestige Class such as archmage or loremaster.
