Wae Ling

Description

Like the moon, Wae Ling is pale, beautiful, and cold. Like all moon elves, Ling is sleighter-of-build than humankind. She stands only 4'8" and weighs less than 100 pounds. Her features are classically sculpted, complete with canted ears. Her silky black hair is kept very long indeed, bound in two pigtails that drop all the way down her back. Jade-green eyes match the soft slant of her Oriental features. Her perfect grace and unblemished skin add to the quiet elfwoman's demure presence. But she does not wear a lady's dress. Instead, Ling is bound in black silk pants and vest. Sashes bind the garments close to her slender form, concealing small but deadly weapons and providing her with maximum movement. Sandals bear her feet as Ling embarks on a path of pure force and wisdom through maximum control.

History

Wae Ling was given up to the Temple of Thunder when she was a baby. Oni slaughtered both her parents and Ling had no relatives anywhere near. So Ling was raised in this monastery dedicated to the cold god of legalism, Yen-Lo. She developed both love and fear for her surrogate family. For these monks trained well in the deadliest fighting arts. Ling undertook the training, too, for that was what the monks there did. And she proved to have a natural inclination to the skills. She grew quite confident and astute. Her slow, elvish maturation provided her many years to develop and excel all standards. And of course, she was also very dependable to carry out all chores and errands that the abbots appointed. As Ling neared her graduation into adulthood, she studied the cultures of the world. And she was disturbed by what she learned of Estonen. They seemed to lack complete discipline and fidelity -- there was too much individualism in their ranks. So Ling convinced the abbots to dispatch her overseas to Estonen to observe the monkhoods dedicated to Duvaun.

Personality

Though cold and quiet, Ling is unwavering and determined. She possesses a keen spirit and strict adherence to a code of self-discipline. Her deadly skills are used whenever she seems necessary and without mercy whatsoever. Brutal and even cruel sometimes, Ling is intent on a singular path to wholesomeness. Compassion would just get in the way, especially compassion for those who purposely stand in her way. The rest of life and existence is to be admired or even emulated. But any creature smart enough to stand in her way deserves to be kicked out of the way. That is the way of her training.

Goals

Ling intends to master the Monk class (to 20th level) and beyond. She will not multi-class.
