Leif Marmion
Description
The epitome of dwarven strength and caliber, Leif Marmion may only stand 4’3”, but his vigilance and mindfulness are evident in all things. The young warrior from the hills wears his raven-black hair short, save his beard, which is braided thrice. Immaculate care goes into the man’s hygiene, which Leif’s dark-brown pantaloons and vest reveal with their cleanliness. His heavy-soled black leather boots take more of a beating from his path down dangerous roads. But before any meeting, Leif would shine them well. His ruddy skin’s color is derived from the days of hard labor in the sun, and the scar across his cheek from glorious battle. Those features detract from the charm of his keen and watchful brown eyes. But who needs charm when one is a stout 150 pounds of unflinching muscle clad in a shirt of chain mail and clutching an urgrosh of sharp purpose. He fights for his people, a clan represented by the symbol of the hammer on a forge etched into the lapels of his vest. Clearly, Leif is a defender of the dwarven way of life, which is always threatened from above and below.
History
Born in 862 AK, Leif was a welcome addition to the famous clan of defenders, the Marmions, based now out of the hill dwarf capitol of Hale, the city of Brime. From youth, Leif was given the training due a true warrior. His family was proud yet jovial, and that reflected in Leif’s personality, too. He fell in love with and wooed a lovely young dwarf woman, Heidi Yulehammer, properly. But she was murdered by foul hobgoblins in an ambush that preluded an all-out war. The hobgoblins’ raid drove into the heart of Brime, and Leif killed many in defense, valiantly avenging his lost love. The action scarred Leif’s face, and he lost more than his good looks. His joviality was gone. Far more serious now, Leif swore to set out and stop the enemies of his race before they amassed to strike in the heart of their lands again.
Personality
Leif is a forceful and attentive dwarf. He is pre-emptive in action but only when he feels it is correct and just. No matter what glory and honor he achieves, however, he doesn’t bother smiling. The light in his life is gone. Only steel matters now, and the will to take it to the heart of the vile enemy who would destroy all that is good.
Goals
Leif will pursue the fighter class to the 7th-level, and then take up the prestige class of dwarven defender. That he will master (10th-level), and then continue with more fighter levels.
