Bio
Khasam Kurry never knew his people's home world. The Mandalorians drove them off Cathar a few generations before he was ever born. The few surviving Cathar traveled across the galaxy; many of them ended up on Ord Mantell. The Kurrys likewise settled there, in the city of Worlport, and were content to be a part of the predominantly human culture. They adapted well, and Khasam proved naturally adept at technology – a plus in a society that presumed “stupid beast” of the fur-covered Cathar.
He grew up learning all he could of mechanical and electronic devices. Khasam earned his flight officer ranking for Breakwater Shipping. Breakwater actually was a maritime industry but had to import key parts from Corellia. Khasam co-piloted, and later earned his full captain stripes, flying a small freighter for the company. The company later made the error of joining the Mantellian separatists. No interest in their politics, and indeed disagreeing with them as a Republic loyalist (more or less), Khasam kept flying. He just didn't return their ship, and started working for himself. Of course, there was a word for that kind of self-employed shipper: smuggler. The spacer's journeys would take him far from Ord Mantell in short time, chasing backstabbing pirates and con artists around the galaxy to ensure he got his fair cut, and to ensure freedom forever stayed in Republic space so people like him would never be backed into a corner like his ancestors once were.
