Jiri

Description
A flurry of white feathers and penetrating golden eyes announces the arrival of Jiri, an avoral of incredible speed and eagle-like grace. This guardinal stands just over seven feet tall, but his light avian bones help him weigh no more than 120 pounds. Still, the thick pure-white feathers are difficult to pierce with any weapons, and his sharp eyes and sharper reflexes help him evade any harm in the first place. Jiri has a muscular form, but instead of normal arms, those limbs extend as strong wings. Midway through the foremost bone of each wing sprouts a prehensile, clawed hand easily capable of standard dexterity. His legs become bird-like limbs as well, ending with long and sharp talons. Feathery vanes provide ample warmth and decency for the celestial's body, and he also wears a blue loincloth of silk with a simple symbol of the sun etched on the cloth. A quiver rests on one side while a sheathed, jeweled scimitar on the other. In hand, Jiri carries a fine recurved longbow inscribed with flowing Celestial script, empowering it further. The guardinal's face is handsome, more human than avian, though etched with worry and perpetual attention to the troubles abroad. Jiri is a creature devoted to a mission, and he shall see to the truth of his task even from afar.
History
For over 2,400 years, Jiri dwelled in the Platinum Heights of Eronia, the second layer of the Blessed Fields of Elysium. When the light of Naiok first touched the peaks of those divine mountains, the stones wept. The tears that fell became eggs of unbreakable quality and when they hit the ground, they shattered and birthed the avoral race. Jiri was one of those eggs. As one of the first of his kind, Jiri took it upon himself to revere the mountains from where he was born. He came to intimately understand the wilderness, for even a celestial wood could be dangerous, and he lived as one within his home world. The occasional infiltration of villains, particularly bold fiends of some sort, gave Jiri a hands-on experience with survival and the protection of his land.
Yet over two millennia later, Jiri was not so distracted with the beauty of his home that the pain of the material realm could be unnoticed. Naiok visited him in his dreams and asked if he would go to Cael and help the people overcome their pain. In the Gulf of Vind, the sun god spoke, there was a mass of volcanic isles known as the Tinder Islands. Overrun by evil, these beautiful and primal mountainscapes were on the brink of eternal corruption. Would he go and help good people to free them from the charring habits of giants and dragons? Jiri readily agreed and flew into the sunlight of Eronia until all light faded, then shined again, with his first dawn on Cael. Excited, Jiri reveled in the feel of this planet, but soon turned to matters at hand.
Personality
Jiri is strong-willed and good-hearted. His nobility and bravery goes hand in hand with his eagle-like resemblance. However, as old as he is, Jiri is also ignorant of the real dangers the world of Cael can pose. He soars right into battle, fearless of all risks. He's not a foolish fighter at least, hanging back to attack from a safer distance as often as he can. Luckily, he's incredibly intelligent, and will pick up on what's wise and unwise in short time. The avoral expects honesty and virtue from those with which he allies, and delivers the same at all times.
Goals
Jiri will honor the ranger class until mastery (20th level+) and beyond.
