Most refugees faced a grim future during the Cold War of the Old Republic era. The Ovauras, a Mirialan family fleeing Sith aggressions on an Outer Rim colony, fled back to Coruscant for protection. Like so many, they found themselves all but cast out, ignored and forgotten on the multi-leveled streets of that city-planet. Jaresu didn’t let it get to her; she was young enough to keep an upbeat look on life. For several years, she lived in squalor with her family, scrounging for food, hiding from weather and gangs. To entertain herself, the tween Jaresu started playing pranks and shoplifting for the thrill. Soon, the gangs looked extra-hard for the Mirialan refugees after reports of a “green thief”. Thus did Jaresu almost bring tragedy upon her entire family and friends, and she learned that actions can have terrible consequences.
Fortunately, the Stormfalls happened across the incident. Nycola’s display of raw Force potential signaled publicly her talents; it awakened Jaresu’s. Investigations into the incident also picked Jaresu up for Padawan training. She trained with Master Genn Steelu alongside Nycola and Oonaklarise for several years in the basics. Their destinies saw them parted when Master Genn passed away. Jaresu trained instead with Master Go Cruzidio Lak, an Ithorian Jedi of calm and gentle persuasion. He hoped channel Jaresu’s boundless energy into a fierce discipline and unflagging focus. While Nycola’s training accelerated under Orgus Din, Jaresu caught up soon enough to join in the Jedi’s battles abroad. She fought with her Padawan friends in countless battles across the galaxy and aided in the final fight against the Sith Emperor. Her agility, energy, confidence, and fearlessness were infectious rallying points for the Order, putting her on the vanguard of every conflict the Republic faced.
