Jaller Im
Description
Jaller Im commands a massive persona that towers over men at 12'7". He weighs over 7,400 pounds and despite his stout and broad-shouldered shape, almost all of that is hardened, powerful muscle. The fire giant wears a loose leather tunic underneath a fine shirt of chain armor. A simple embellishment of a rearing dragon is depicted on a black leather mantle draped over his chest. His large feet are fit into ironshod boots. Coal-black is the color of his skin, though he has bright orange-red hair that adds contrast to his pigmentation. Jaller's hair is worn wild and messily, giving it the appearance of untamed, roaring bonfire. He sports a short beard as well, and this is better-kept. The giant's face is round and dark, with dark-red eyes like glowing embers set behind his broad nose. His voice is as deep as a mountain's rumble, commanding and strong, illustrating his breeding as a chief and not just a warrior. A large leather sack is hitched to his waist, bulging with its contents of rocks and gear. Jaller hoists a huge double-bladed axe over one shoulder. No doubt, he is constantly seeking out an opportunity to use it!
History
Sixty-two years ago in the Tinder Islands in the Gulf of Vind, the Im Clan of fire giants underwent a brief birth spurt. It was all thanks to a healthy parentage really. And that health didn't just derive from active lifestyles and proper eating habits. The Im Clan earned a powerful new ally who helped them fight -- and win -- their wars against a powerful league of men and dwarves. Red dragons sided with these fire giants, and helped them roast every puny soldier who dared step onto their isles. That disastrous campaign served the little folk right, and empowered the Im Clan to greater welfare than before. Jaller was one of many children to enter that generation of strong-backed warriors. His father was a leader in the clan, and this insured he received the best training and care. Jaller grew up healthy and strong and fearless. He promised to carry on the responsibilities his father once held. As a lieutenant to the king of the clan, Jaller was privy to certain problems that were brewing on the horizon. It had been many years since the giants spoke with the dragons, and Jaller was chosen to go forth and seek the dragons and negotiate for a new alliance. It seemed the puny people already forgot learned their lesson!
Personality
Jaller is brutal and short-tempered, characteristics common to all his kind. But he also understands how to command loyalty through the flame of passion -- a passion that derives especially from his loyalty to his people and the glory of his position. He has the desire to rise to the rank of king himself, and possesses more than enough cunning and insight to do just that.
Goals
Jaller will pursue the barbarian class to mastery and beyond (20th level+) as an epic warlord.
