Jahdiel Uriah
Description
A huge brutish figure defines Jahdiel Uriah, who towers over thirteen feet tall and one ton. The efreeti is a giant of a genie with brick red skin that emits a furious heat that seems to sear from any distance. Indeed, brief licks of flame sweep up or down his powerful muscles. But it doesn’t seem to harm what little accouterments Jahdiel brings. Those include the black iron bracers clasped around his wrists, the curved sword sheathed at his side, and the other gear he carries, as well as the black girdle and loincloth of fine leather inscribed with fire motifs along the edges. More prominent are the short, curved horns rising from his brow – the left one broken. But the efreeti’s jutting tusks are unbroken, and his meaty fists are more than capable of delivering punishment without grasping the hilt of his falchion. A single black ponytail embodies all that he has for hair, and it springs from the back of his scalp to fall harmlessly down to the center of his back. Yet Jahdiel’s eyes always seem to drag the attention back: they are pools of magma, fiery and unspeakably hot in aggressive drive and purpose. He is askar, and let all enemies of the efreet tremble in his mighty presence!
History
Like many efreet, Jahdiel Uriah was birthed in the City of Brass, a massive metropolis of genies set in the heart of the Elemental Plane of Fire. Approximately 1,426 years ago Jahdiel joined his family. And he made them proud with the aggressive fury he revealed even young. While many genies preferred to rely on their wits and tricks, Jahdiel was quite a hands-on kind of efreeti. While far from a stupid genie, he far preferred to brawl those that annoyed him. And there was a place for warriors among the efreet, too! He entered the legions of askari. There he trained until he matured (over several centuries). And for many centuries more, Jahdiel defended his kind’s claims around the Inner Planes. Sometimes “defense” appeared more like “offense”, but the efreet took what they claimed. Jahdiel understood that might made right, so long as one always remembered where one’s loyalty belonged. Slowly did Jahdiel rise in rank in the army. But that was mainly due to his lack of ambition and desire for rank. As always, Jahdiel liked to fight on the frontlines and the recognition it brought him among his peers. Only after almost 1,500 years was Jahdiel promoted to sergeant. And with that promotion, he obtained a new mission. He was dispatched to Cael and to the Darsix Islands. There he was to assist the efreet’s fiery allies on earth against their selfish or self-righteous enemies, such as red dragons or would-be mortal heroes. Jahdiel accepted the new role with vigor, eager to see how Cael’s warriors could stand up to the punishments he could deliver.
Personality
Unforgiving and malicious, Jahdiel personifies all that is good and bad about efreet. He remains brutal and arrogant yet driven and deliberate. His cleverness and loyalty cannot be understated, and Jahdiel has certainly earned the right to be feared. War is his life, however, and he will never bow to any master who would dare try and use him for mere wishes.
Goals
Jahdiel is content to master the fighter class and beyond (20th-level+), taking it to epic levels.
