Na Hui Ying

Description

This young Oriental woman is diminutive and light weight. But Na Hui Ying commands a confident presence, with grace and agility of truly gifted levels. Hui Ying's complexion is smooth and sculpted gently, weighing greater ease to her easy smiles. Brown eyes sparkle with focus, a no-nonsense attitude, and comprehension, patience, and maturity that makes her seem a few years older than she really is. Dark hair, black as night, is braided into twin pig tails that drape down her back to her waist. Hui Ying wears effeminate attire, from soft sandals to light blue ribbons in her hair. Her garb is white and pink, with cherry blossom motifs embroidered into the trousers and tunic. Only her outfit's silk manufacture discourages the assumption of a peasant nature. The flaps of her tunic drape down to her knees, allowing her to easily conceal her humble instruments of self-defense. Otherwise, the sleight woman seems unarmed and harmless. That's precisely the image she seems to want to portray, too, to set good people at ease…and mislead the enemy.

History

Na Hui Ying was left as an infant on the doorstep of the Temple of the Sun twenty-three years ago. The baby girl was a burden to her poor family and the other options for relieving the burden of her birth were nefarious and illegal in this region, the Notowa Peninsula of Western Wutao. The orphan girl was raised here as a fighting monk, and well-schooled in the principles of rectitude and honor. Hui Ying held no regrets for her past, treating her fellow laymen and laywomen of the temple as her surrogate family. She grew quickly in skill and understanding and permitted to venture forth and teach the lessons of humility and respect she learned to others. Hui Ying left the temple and walked the Roads of Dust. She brought her weapons and fighting skills, for she realized that these were sometimes the only teaching tools that worked.

Personality

Hui Ying is a good person, not a crusader, but definitely a pillar of righteousness and propriety. She believes in obeying the laws of the land, provided they are not tyrannical, but she also believes in a number of philosophies that deal with rulership and discipline. Ultimately, Hui Ying believes that people must be shown the way through example, not force. So she leads the responsible life she hopes others will come to respect and emulate.

Goals

Hui Ying will only ever pursue the monk class, mastering it (20th level+) and beyond as an epic monk.
