Hania Thonsyla

Description

Few other exotic creatures can boast this sort of oceanic beauty. Hania Thonsyla combines the natural grace, slender shape, and gentle form of her sea elf heritage with a more unusual parentage. While all sea elves have webbed fingers and toes, and gills behind their canted ears, Hania also commands pale-blue scales along her wiry limbs and torso. Her sky-blue hair flows like sea weed in the waves and her white skin seems flawless and lovely. However, her eyes that match her long flowing hair burn with a swirling essence like a storm-blown cloud or mist. Her draconian lineage is also revealed in the sharp teeth she may bare as well as the cunning talons she wields. However, Hania is just as likely to be ready for defense and battle in elvish armor. She would don a silvery shirt of fine mithral, which seems to sparkle in the sea, over her shapely form. She would take up a round shield of steel, forged to appear like a whirling shell. Instead of claws, she might fight with a crossbow made of the bone from a dragon turtle’s shell. A waterproofed leather pack carries her miscellaneous materials, some fair and some alien. Little more than a fishnet-like gown covers her powerful body otherwise. Whether on land or in the water, however, Hania maintains a quiet serenity few can fathom. Her devotion to Sea and its divine representatives cannot be understated, nor can her elven lore and draconic ferocity. Trespassers beware: behind her gentle mien lurks the soul of a fearless warrior-drake.

History

Couplings between dragon and elf were never common. Rarer still was the joining between a sea elf and mist dragon. Yet it happened near the Silver Delta 170 years ago. Hania was the result. Her mother, the elf, took the babe back into the sea. There she was raised among the Thonsyla people of the Scattered Pearls Reef. Many wondered at her draconian lineage, but it was never questioned or harassed. It was viewed as a gift. And indeed it was, for Hania was made into the finest specimen of elfwoman they ever saw. She was strong, swift, smart, and beautiful. None could compare, yet none seemed to be able to gain her heart, despite the fun and frolic in which they all, including Hania, tarried for so many years. The shores always called to Hania, and she explored them rashly, exposing herself to common humans and other folk that dwelled near the ocean’s edge. She was encouraged to commune with Narjor, god of the deep, for wisdom on how to live her life well for both her people as well as herself. Hania found more than wisdom. She found faith. Through Narjor, Hania knew she might pursue harmony of the sea and land together. She took up the role of priestess, putting her divine gifts to good use with her innate powers. A vision led Hania from the Silver Delta to the Crystal Bay to the east. There she would have to confront a danger to the harmony between the sea and land, her god warned, as well as temptations within. She answered this call to duty with pride and excitement, swimming far to reach this destination. Her long-lived future lay ahead, and Hania didn’t want to dally anymore.

Personality

Like most elves, and sea elves especially, Hania takes everything in a leisurely stride (or swim). Even this latest vision only stirred her from her whimsical lifestyle by the sea. Luckily, she is not as capricious as some sea elves. Her dragon-blooded heritage may contribute to this wiser and gentler attitude, though the intensity and determination that may derive from the same is indomitable and even perturbing. She knows she’s a perfect specimen of her kind, yet is humbled by the vastness of the sea. So Hania seeks to put her good qualities to harmonizing benefit of the world.

Goals

Hania will pursue the cleric class awhile (to about 6th level), then take up the sorcerer class (likewise to the 6th level), thereafter pursuing the prestige class of mystic theurge.
