Farin Gaim

Description

Gold and steel defines Sir Farin Gaim's presence. The blonde-hair and bearded dwarf stands only a stout 4'8" but is filled out with powerfully packed musculature. Farin's short-trimmed hair is concealed largely by a steel helmet that accompanies his full suit of dwarven-made chain mail. A blue mantle drapes over his shoulders and chest and a platinum emblem of Herlidall is affixed to this garment. The paladin has dark skin, a light brown in fact, but a light smile and pleasant demeanor. His long beard is twin-braided, and the braids are carefully looped back over his shoulders. The gold dwarf's glittering gaze reflects his race's name, for they possess that metal's quality in hue and brightness. Farin's gauntleted hands clutch a broad-headed waraxe and broad, triangular shield, both forged of the finest materials. Farin was well equipped with the essentials to carry out his god's holy crusades of protection and warcraft.

History

Farin Gaim was born in 857 AK deep in the gold dwarves' sole Estonen keep, Auxold. In the Northern Broken Peaks of Hale did Farin labor to develop his family's common role as goldsmiths. Unfortunately for the Gaims, but well for Farin, he was too talented a warrior, too wise and urbane, to waste behind a counter. He was recruited by the Temple of Herlidall Bridgecleaver in the hopes that he would make a fine guardian, but Farin did more than that. He heard the call to the elite Knighthood of the Twin-Axes and rose to the mantle of the paladin. Accepting his role as a protector of the innocent and defender of the weak, Farin endeavored to discover greater humility in these difficult tasks and the trials ahead of the paladin's path.

Personality

Farin can sometimes be heavy-handed in his role as a paladin, but it's always meant for the good of those around him. This cavalier nature derives especially from his gold dwarf culture, which prides itself as the most civilized and elite of all dwarven societies. Thus, even in his role as a servant of justice and a protector of commonfolk, he can be a little overbearing and arrogant. His skill, however, is unquestionable, and he does not lightly wield it, demonstrating the compassion and good spirit one would expect of a genuine paladin.

Goals

Farin will only ever walk the path of a paladin, mastering this class (20th level+) and continuing as an epic Knight of the Twin-Axes.
