Evanduzt Quizana
Description
Evanduzt is handsome among drow, but despised by most others. The young dark elf walks with a superhumanly fluid, athletic gait. His bone-white hair is trimmed relatively short, bangs allowed to curtain over his sculpted features. Deep-crimson eyes survey the area carefully, yet without the malevolence associated with most drow. Avoiding sunlight, he blends expertly into the shadows with his ink-black skin and dark breeches and tunic. Smooth black leather encases his torso and a dirk is sheathed at his left side. The dark elves' notorious hand crossbow is hitched to his right hip for a quick draw.
History
The underworld is broken down into hundreds of dark kingdoms and realms. The drow command many domains. Evanduzt Quizana and his younger sister, Nilandra, derived from the realm of Terrazhan, which was geographically located under the Sonodell Mountains of northern Darsix. He was born 130 years ago, in 763 AK. Like all elves, Evanduzt spent many decades maturing and learning the ways of the drow. He was groomed early on to join the faceless ranks of ordinary drow warriors. He knew he had greater talent than that. But that might have just been family pride thinking – he and his sister were members of the great House Shi’quos, after all. The Quizanas commanded a heritage as masterful dancers, able to hypnotize audiences with their sinuous, graceful, and exotic movements. But for years, Evanduzt endured this ignominious training without complaint. Thus, it was a fairly unsuspected shock when he and his sister went rogue and fled the underground kingdom. It happened on a routine patrol of Terrazhan's perimeter tunnels. It was early morning, the end of his patrol rounds, and against all warning, Evanduzt poked his head out of the ground. The young drow was immediately blinded by the rising sun. Yet it was one of the most beautiful things he ever saw and none of his twisted dark elf upbringing could change that.
At that moment, Evanduzt knew he couldn't stay among his people anymore. It wasn't because he felt some urge to become a "light" elf, but because he knew the drow did not appreciate beautiful things. He knew he had no horizons to explore if he stayed in the underworld. At best, he'd be turned to the priesthood guard and made into a sadistic slave of Sivarnatta. At worst, he'd be a nobody patrol guard forever. So he and his sister fled Terrazhan to the south, into the overlands of Darsix and among its barbaric peoples. Fortunately, the drow were disinterested in the Quizanas' departure. No assassins were dispatched. The two would have to fend for themselves from now on, he knew. But that suited Evanduzt just fine, who secretly harbored incestuous thoughts about his gorgeous and talented sister…
Personality
Though Evanduzt is not as villainous as his forebears, the drow is certainly no hero. He sees himself as an adventuresome opportunist, seeking ways to better improve himself and his standard of living. However, he holds the acquisition of power over wealth. He knows that that will save his life should the drow ever decide to remove a couple "traitors" of no real import. Evanduzt holds no spite for the people he left behind. But he also doesn't wish to die as some faceless soldier in some bloodless crusade against overlanders. Evanduzt is out for he and his sister alone.
Goals
Evanduzt will pursue the Rogue class to at least 7th level. Then he will develop magical abilities by pursuing the Sorcerer class to 6th level. Then he will take up the prestige class of Shadowdancer and master that (to 10th level) before mastering his Rogue and Sorcerer classes (both to 20th).
