Cerviel

Description

Immense and powerful, Cerviel towers over most evil-doers at 12'4". Over 1,200 pounds of grace and sinew defines Cerviel's well-armored stance. The otherworldly nature of Cerviel shines through immediately. His angelic ways burn brightly, through his comely and manly features to his metallic hair and eyes. Three pairs of great, white-feathered wings sprout from the metavoi's back. The six appendages span twenty feet in either direction when unfurled. Gold-threaded robes spill around his great form, though stretch with the presence of golden, mithral armor protecting his torso beneath. A sword is sheathed at Cerviel's side and a fine yew bow is strapped to his back. Both weapons virtually glow with divine essence. But their magical natures pale in comparison to the uthra's holy presence. So overwhelming is his goodness that few beings can even bear to lay their eyes on the creature. They risk enthrallment…or unadulterated terror. For Cerviel is not an angel of mercy, but a soldier of heaven and defender of the faith. Woe to the damned!

History

Exactly 3,872 years ago, Cerviel was brought into existence by the great gods of good in the heart of the Heavenly City in Celestia. He was one of the first metavoi ever. For the first few millennia of his life, Cerviel gladly honed his skills, gathered wisdom, and protected the holy realms of Heaven. When it became clear that the Upper Planes' dire foes from the Lower Planes were far too busy massacring each other to pose a serious threat to Heaven, Cerviel (like other metavoi) was redeployed. He was appointed to assist Kapponius, the god of valor, in the guardianship of that deity's temples. Often a target of Duvaun’s vengeful wrath, those temples surely needed the sword arm of a creature like Cerviel. Eager to hone his skills and empower his faith to even greater levels, this metavoi accepted one of the most dangerous temples to guard in all of Estonen. The Temple of Kapponius in the port city of Abrasia, one of that god's furthest outposts, in the land. For it was located in Verdentia, all too close to minions of evil. Cerviel would be sorely tested indeed in the days to come.

Personality

Honor binds Cerviel's entire existence. He lives and has always lived by a strict code of conduct. It defines valor as opposed to reckless bravery. That's why Cerviel is a defender, not a crusader. He protects places and people of virtue from evil, and he's satisfied with this single-minded purpose in his immortal existence. Cerviel has no intention to deviate and there are none who could make him.

Goals

Cerviel will master the Paladin class (to 20th level) and beyond as an epic hero of divine proportions.
